The world should take the Chinese government to court.

Re: Virus and Bookings
Sadly or unfortunately- take your pick, the world needs their business and some countries are/will undercut others to get that business. Canada itself is no better/worse in this regard in my view.

Re: Virus and Bookings
200% - what a bunch of fucktards.
Continuously allowing flights from the outbreak centre while permitting foreign radicals to tank our economy has shown this government to be a bunch of wafflers, incapable of doing what it takes.

Interesting article...
China Bought the West Time. The West Squandered It.
“Why did so many countries watch the epidemic unfold for weeks as though it was none of their concern?“

Re: Virus and Bookings
I seem to recall the WHO telling everybody that cancelling flights and closing borders was the wrong thing to do.
This is now happening about a month too late.
Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has shown himself to be completely useless. Obviously he ticked some "Diversity Hire" Box at the UN.
The WHO needs to be disbanded imho.
The bad news is piling up faster that I can post it. You can read it for yourself - it's depressing reading.

My roster just got wiped - got nothing but standbys for the rest of March.

Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business

Don't be afraid of the begging, just give them a buck or two and they're grateful.

Don't be afraid. The human species has endured far worse things.
Re: Virus and Bookings
I'm not afraid...to be honest (at least not yet). But I'm disappointed... that we humans got our selves to this point. Then again, considering how we behaved in just the last 50 years, its no wonder something had to come our way at one point.

From Today's Honolulu Star Advertiser: Canadian Flight Attendant Covid-19 Positive in Maui:
Coronavirus cases in Hawaii grow to 7
The number of coronavirus cases in Hawaii has grown to seven, but none of them appear to be the result of the virus spreading in the community, Gov. David Ige said at a news conference today.
The three cases announced today include one person on Maui and two people on Oahu.
…
The Maui case involves a female flight attendant, believed to be a Canadian citizen. The woman took a flight on March 8 to Maui and began showing symptoms on March 9. At some point, it was discovered the flight attendant was exposed to a confirmed case of coronavirus in Germany on March 4.
“Last flight that the flight attendant took was March 8, so we believe the risk to any passengers on the previous flight is low,” [Governor] Ige said.
The person had a sample taken on March 11, which came back positive. Ige said the person had self-isolated at the Royal Lahaina Resort while awaiting test results. After the positive test result came back, the person was moved by an emergency medical services company to an isolation facility at a Lahaina clinic.
