Re: The Return to Normal?
Well..here’s the “kick in the nuts”, Corona Virus mimics the “common cold”, do we/have we.. a “vaccination” for the “common cold”? Answer is “NO”, but we do know that washing your filthy hands several times a day with “soap and water”, and not touching your face (eyes, nose, and mouth) with your “filthy germ ridden fingers”, then you won’t normally catch a “cold”, (being outside on a cold day has nothing to do with catching a cold, despite the “generational fallacy” we’ve all grown up to believe)! So..hoping for a vaccine in this regards is “hopeful thinking” and may never happen, however in the meantime , practicing (what every child\adult should have already known, but clearly don’t), wash your Goddamned filthy hands every chance you get

Re: The Return to Normal?
Sorry, I was so livid with assholes that don’t wash their hands that I double posted. FFS!
Keep the dirty side down.
Re: The Return to Normal?
I love when you see guys at the airport walk out of the washroom stalls straight for the exit ....after doing the number 2...even more exiting is when you see one of the airline guys in uniform Hope they use those wipes when they jump on board.

Re: The Return to Normal?
At the Officer’s Club washroom one night an Air Force pilot notices a Navy pilot heading straight for the exit after using the urinal.
Air Force guy: “In the Air Force we wash our hands after using the urinal.”
Navy guy: “In the Navy we don’t piss all over our hands.”
Really old joke. Be the Air Force guy and wash your hands.

Do you hold a position with ALPA?ALPApolicy wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 12:33 pm Why is it that it has been so easy to send our young to an early grave in times of war, including through mandatory conscription against their will, with those unwilling being branded as cowards, yet when we seek to allow our young to have a healthy economic future by subjecting our elders to a modest increase in risk, there is foul play alleged?
The aforementioned UK top statistician says that Coronavirus risk of dying very nearly replicates the age adjusted risk of dying of any cause.
Says Prof David Spiegelhalter: “So, roughly speaking, we might say that getting COVID-19 is like packing a year’s worth of risk into a week or two. Which is why it’s important to spread out the infections to avoid the NHS being overwhelmed.”

Dearest Rockie,
I do hope you put your helmet on today. You know, reduce the risk.
You continually harp about the ‘experts’ and the ‘consensus’ on an approach to Covid. Whose experts? Putin’s experts? China’s experts? Maybe Italy’s experts or how about Sweden? The WHO? The same WHO that is clearly politically motivated or the WHO in all their righteousness has claimed Sweden’s response was the correct one?
These ‘experts’ are all fallible. Prone to bias and influence. Whose experts do you listen to? Never mind, you’re very predictable. Like the NPC (non playable character). There are Conservative experts and Liberal experts. Socialist experts and capitalist experts. All clamouring ‘truth’ about how to respond to this pandemic.
You should consider the reliability of experts, even en masse. I had an aunt whom the experts (several) said she was fine it’s just an ulcer or reflux. She’s expertly dead from colon cancer.
Then there are the numbers which you would presume to be infallible. Yet, obviously, even the numbers are susceptible to bias. Deaths to attributes to Covid when the virus was secondary to cause of death. What numbers of infected truly exist without a positive test.
At the very beginning when the information bank was low and the situation was terrifying in Italy, I started to feel a little under the weather. I stayed at home for 3 weeks for fear of putting someone I know at risk. Didn’t leave my property. I did that because no one knew very much about this thing. That has changed. The world is no longer at the mercy of opinion now that we have experience.
Now, with all the information we’ve learned, with ICU’s in my area operating at 5% capacity, seeing the severe cases congregated amongst the older crowns. Keeping hygiene and personal space a priority - I agree with those that it’s time to emerge from this.
Plenty of people say protect the elderly and you rebuke them with ‘it’s not possible’. Well, how is it possible to protect the ENTIRE population as you suggest is prevailing course of action? Overwhelming number of NYC cases were reported to occur in the shelter at home population.
As it has always been: balancing risk, not eliminating it.
Yes, I realize this post was a waste of time. A man convinced against his will is of the same opinion still.

Dearest JeppsOnFire.
Health and medical authorities. I thought I made that abundantly clear but I guess not, sorry for your confusion. I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that if you actually took the time to listen to what they are saying you would be surprised. Try it..it won't hurt and you won't spontaneously turn into a liberal.

You missed my sarcasm. My point is that is that it’s not really feasible to just isolate one group of people and expect everyone else to not ever go visit them.Rockie wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 3:37 pmGawd...focus will you? What do you think mixturerich, people haven't thought about protecting elderly people before you?
Re: The Return to Normal?
Sorry, my mistake. You're right of course and not just as it applies to family but long term care and retirement facilities have staff, get deliveries etc as well. There's no true isolation unless we set them adrift on an iceflow in the arctic.mixturerich wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 10:26 amYou missed my sarcasm. I see this thread is being hijacked now just like the Coronavirus Numbers thread.
Before you get this one shut down as well, can you take this argument somewhere else.... like the General Comments board perhaps.

Hijacked how? This is a discussion about returning the economy to normal. What "normal" do you think is being discussed?Transition9er2 wrote: ↑Tue May 12, 2020 11:31 am I see this thread is being hijacked now just like the Coronavirus Numbers thread.

Your post is a thing of beauty. I think most of us enjoyed it, but unfortunately it won't influence the target.
When one poster continually makes ad hominem attacks and relies appeals to authority, you can be sure that he has weak debate Kung Fu. He will continue to site only progressive MS media, shout down any other source of information and demonize certain world leaders, as fits his perspective and the Gated Institutional Narrative.
He will continue to scream at the sky, but others should not be afraid to contribute to the conversation, despite the fact that you are all evil and foolish and would trade lives for money.
