Looking for some info...

I will be commuting from whatever base I am awarded at Mainline. Was wondering... is there a waiting period before Travel Benefits are enabled? I know with some US carriers you have to wait something like six months before they let you fly... Anyone?

there is a 6 month wait untill passes kick in. So if you have any friends that are working for Jazz or AC and they do not already have a travell partner ask one of them to make you their travell partner and therefore you can commute for almost free.

Other options, Jump seat with Westjet, CMA, GGN, or any other carrier that has jump seat privledges.

Good luck.

The 6 month waiting period was recently removed. You now get travel passes from day 1.

On this topic (sort of) .. I am hoping to get on with Jazz soon, wondering if anyone can answer a few simple (and possibly stupid) questions..
-How does date of hire work? is it first day of groundschool or sometime after your medical and before groundschool?
-Anyone know who Jazz uses in yyc for medicals?

Thanks guys and gals :)

Dick,

The six month restriction has been removed on passes?? Is this with mainline new hires? Also, is this just for yourself or starts immediately for your family as well.

Cheers

Jack

I'm new to this whole passes thing......so bare with me. Is it just one person that can fly with your passes without you being there? If so what about your parents? Do you have to use buddy passes with them? And if so I guess you would have to accompany them?

Cheers

you can have a spouse or a designated travel partner that may fly without you. The parents of the employee may also travel without you. Anyone else needs to fly with you.

Unless this has changed since I went through over a year ago, the pass was ONLY good for you and only to commute to and from your home airport and your base. At 6 months the rest of the pass privileges kick in.

I just interviewed at mainline and was still under the impression that passes didn't kick in for 6 mths.

Are guys commuting out the day before to their base?

I hope to commute to YYZ from ywg

Thanks for your help
