Hahahaha man this guy is funny! I would ask if someone pi$$ed in your cornflakes but from the sounds of things someone DEFINITELY took a huge STEAMING poop in yours!
Hahaha not only are you wrong on some many levels, your argument is quite pathetic. I'm not gonna sit here and argue with your lack of intelligence anymore. Only thing I will say is a huge chunk of the captain's here turned down AC when they were offered a job! So yea, your wrong again!
ADIOS! I'm outta of this thread. I don't have time for stupidity either!

Seriously though, few if anyone goes to Jazz for their whole career on purpose. They go for:
1. To get shiny jet time for West Jet, Air Canada, or other lifer jobs.
2. They or more likely their partner wants to live in an urban center.
3. To wear a big hat and tell your friends you're an airline pilot.

I flew the DC-9 and the 320 into these places (except RDU....I only did this one onthe 9 and the CRJ.)Jaques Strappe wrote:Glen Quagmire wrote:The Jun 12 Embraer Jepp amendment has YQT, YQB, ATL, MSP, RDU and DFW in it.

So Babybus and Jaques Strappe, what is it you're trying to say? It's hard to tell with written word, so I'm curious, is there a tone of resentment in there. It reads like, I used to fly to those places but then Jazz stole that flying from us. Or am I being too sensitive? Or are you looking forward to going there again if we walk?babybus wrote:I flew the DC-9 and the 320 into these places (except RDU....I only did this one onthe 9 and the CRJ.)Jaques Strappe wrote:Glen Quagmire wrote:The Jun 12 Embraer Jepp amendment has YQT, YQB, ATL, MSP, RDU and DFW in it.

Yup, too sensitive. Nothing wrong with a walk down memory lane but all routes are owned by Air Canada, not Jazz.So Babybus and Jaques Strappe, what is it you're trying to say? Looks like your FAs will walk before the pilots as they are not happy with being left out of the negotiating party.

You might wanna give Westjet a call and inform them they are operating aircraft on routes owned by Air Canada. I don't think they got that memo.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
My post was in response to Babybus' and Jaques' comments that they used to fly into YQT, YQB, ATL, MSP, RDU, DFW and now the plates are in the Jepp ammendments suggesting that mainline could operate these routes that Jazz has been doing for the past several years, if there is a labour disruption. These are Air Canada routes, not Jazz's. Westjet has nothing to do with this conversation. Not sure what your point is. Are you sensitive now too?Localizer wrote:yycflyguy wrote:Yup, too sensitive. So what is Jazz MECs position on negotiations if the FAs walk first? Sort of steals your thunder, I would think.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
yycflyguy,
The way I read it, they haven't given notice, they have given an ultimatum. Either start negotiating or we will give notice. That being said, if they do walk first I doubt we will walk at the same time, so we'll have to wait until they settle and then serve our notice, if we don't have an TA at that point. Kind of gives us an upper hand in my mind. If the FAs walk, then come back after any amount of time, I think the company would likely give in to our demands rather than have a second interuption, don't you think?

yycflyguy,
Did Jaques and Babybus tell you how they meant it or do you know them well enough to know what they were thinking?
I realise we operate those on behalf of AC, but there are some out there who think Jazz should only be operating Dash 8-100 into small markets, therfore on some of the bigger routes, we have "Stole" the flying.

Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
Hope you are right, but I would think after whoever negotiates an agreement first, management is going to come back and say "sorry, we wanted to play ball but the last group took all the money!" From an ACPA standpoint, CUPE has done a much better job at playing the negotiation game for the FAs than our representation has. Sounds like ALPA is doing a great job. I hope our MEC is following this because we are getting schooled on negotiations 101.mbav8r wrote:yycflyguy,

I have flown with Jaques but don't know him well enough to speak on his behalf. Still a good man though.Did Jaques and Babybus tell you how they meant it or do you know them well enough to know what they were thinking?

Nobody said anything about "stealing" the flying. That was your interpretation. I read it that they used to fly to those destinations back when we got paid better and they have some fond memories. The latest amendment had these destinations back on the EMB and 320 because if there is a labour disruption we could be flying there 72 hours after your MEC decides its showtime.

It's all academic now. AC pilots won't have the chance to scab. We lost the chance to strike.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
Regretfully, the government stuck their nose in a little early if you ask me.
It isn't scab flying if we are Jazz and Air Canada are two separate companies, plus it is Air Canada routes that are contracted out via a CPA. Be careful about throwing around a scab label like that. It's all academic now. AC pilots won't have the chance to scab. We lost the chance to strike.

Sorry for the misunderstand I did not feel they are scabs at all. I just thought others would because they called Cargojet pilots scabs for flying Amerijet freight during their strike.

Right on Que if you ask me. Same as 2001.yycflyguy wrote:Regretfully, the government stuck their nose in a little early if you ask me.
Then it was the minister of labor Claudette Bradshaw threatening ACPA.
Intervene just prior to the union giving notice.
Look around folks. Things have changed. No the law hasn't. But the acceptability of gov't intervening to revoke the right to strike has become common place.
It is not just aviation.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
Ummm guys? I haven't seen any back to work legislation yet have you? It would still have to be pushed through parliment and if I have heard correctly they are all on summer break as of today... Could take a while to get them back and force this bill through. Lots of time to go on strike if you move quickly... Not sure why everyone bails as soon as the government says it is the PROCESS of making back to work legislation.. Hold the line guys, its not over yet.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
If they are threatining back to work legislation for Jazz I imagine ACPA wouldn't stand much of a chance of going on strike if they had to.
Re: Service disruptions during Jazz strike
Again the key word is "threatening" and for some reason this is where almost everybody starts to panic.. I say call their bluff.. Make them come in on their summer vacation and push it through parliment. At the same time EVERY single pilot in Canada should be writing their MP's about this.. There are ALOT of us out there....
