How many years to junior left seat at WJ?

A friend told me it's a bit of an unknown with everyone at Encore ahead of new hires - but easily more than 10 to left seat on the '37 for a new hire today...

If your hired at WJ and every other f/o is ahead of you and every Encore pilot is ahead of you will you ever see left seat?

Any truth to the rumour that new hire classes have been cancelled/reduced to the end of 2016 due to training capacity limitations?

Has anyone who received the 'good' OTS email in April been interviewed yet?

I received the "good email" OTS and have not heard a thing.

Latest info is 3 more courses this year. AUG/OCT/NOV.

Since that's fewer than what they were planning a couple months ago, I'd be surprised if they didn't add at least one more.

Are college aviation diploma's weighted the same as a 4 year degree?

I was going to ask the same. I believe and hope an aviation diploma from a university is equivalent to a non-aviation related degree in the eyes of AC HR.

An Aviation Diploma of 2/3 or 4 year program is given equal value to someone with a University degree. Not the case for any of the one year Aviation programs. At least up until recently. Doubt if it changes any time soon.

Jmo, the training plan that was just released indicates a very aggressive agenda that pushes through existing pilots to new equipment. My guess is that the sims are pretty full as a result. A lot of said activity begins as soon as labour day until the end of cal 16. It makes sense to back off on the new hire courses temporarily. Three courses isn't that bad.

@#$!, if you haven't figured out yet that getting hired at an airline has very little to do with "how great of a pilot you are" - then wtf no wonder you don't have a job yet...

A degree weeds out a few of the idiots... A FEW... they sort it out from there... and pick the outstanding and smart ones without a degree as they go...

My buddy interviewed at AC then got this email (paraphrased),

"Thanks for the interview. At this time, all pilot vacancies are full. We plan on continuing hiring this fall and next year and hope to be able to proceed with your file in the future. Until that time, your application is on hold and will stay active for 12 months. If you hear nothing after 12 months, then re-apply on our website"

Is this good or bad??

It means your buddy is not out of the running, they just have better qualified candidates, or more pilots to be processed through the PMA. AC is heading into a period of growth, combined with retirements. I can almost assure you, any academic requirements are going to be waved. I think the most junior EMB captain is four years with the company. With the 737 coming in 2017, the training issues are already starting to manifest themselves for the coming year. The last two years we have given them LETS to get them through the busy summer, with the release of bid 16-03, it's apparent they are royally screwed for summer 17.
