Re: Widebody announcement
I just checked again against our MOA for the B767. I know it says B737 pay scale but the hourly rate posted is for the B767. The B737 hourly rate is lower. 12 yearCapt B737 rate is $182 and FO's top of at $101.

Re: Widebody announcement
Why doesn't someone credible just post the pay scale for the WB operation?
Not the hourly, or pay with company contribution as part of compensation, or whatever. Just what the gross monthly pay for the new operation is, in simple terms. What will a newly minted 767 pilot at Westjet make? Period.
It's not rocket surgery. But it would be interesting.

Re: Widebody announcement
I know carrying YOS isn't a Westjet thing, but will the widebody crews be carrying their YOS with them from Mainline, or will the be starting over again and making yr 1 WB pay?
Re: Widebody announcement
If that is accurate, it is better than I anticipated. Better than rouge, worse than AC mainline and Delta.Airbrake wrote:$16277.33/month
Will Westjet be augmenting any of their overseas flights?
Re: Widebody announcement
Hi there,
Yes it's accurate based off the 77.5 hr min guarantee.
The FO rate is about 128/hr or 9920 ish per month.(if memory serves)
No augmentation is planned for now. It will depend on what we do with the machines but I suspect there won't be any need for the first year or two. As things mature - maybe.
Take care,
Dave

So, are the Encore pilots going to eventually get credit for YOS, or are the WJPA only looking out for themselves and hanging the Encore pilots out to dry?moe wrote:Yes YOS to the 67

At what point can a pilot expect to stop having to make sacrifices for their career or the "company"? At what point is their experience worth something?

Will all the 67 hiring be internal or is there potential for DE F/Os as well?

Re: Widebody announcement
I'm sure of the 1000+ pilots that WS has none of them will want to fly the 767 so yes DE F/O will be available. Look at Air Canada and how much trouble they had filling the 787.razorblade wrote:Will all the 67 hiring be internal or is there potential for DE F/Os as well?

No
Re: Widebody announcement
I am sure there will be some YYZ Captains who will gladly take the 767 FO spots as an excuse to downgrade to a western base. I know I would if I had a family to be with.

Re: Widebody announcement
Would their left seat time count towards YOS or is it just right seat time?brooks wrote:I am sure there will be some YYZ Captains who will gladly take the 767 FO spots as an excuse to downgrade to a western base. I know I would if I had a family to be with.
Re: Widebody announcement
how many hours of rest do crew have after a transoceanic flight ?
will they have to groom a WB aircraft after 6/8 hrs of crossing at night ?

Re: Widebody announcement
No crew grooming on the 767. With any luck that'll catch on.
