How Long Until Crosby's Out Again?
Crosby played brilliantly last night, despite being off for
so long. Obviously that won't be tolerated for long in
the ol' "Blood On The Ice" NHL.
So how long until some no-talent goon takes him out
again with a cheap, violent headshot resulting in a career
ending concussion that will be noisily investigated by police
but ultimately no charges will be laid?

I remember Hedley was quite passionate against violence in hockey. I miss that guy. But sometimes I feel that hes still among us...

Well, I'm in for December - 'course, it could be next December...
I think that you're right, though, Colonel. Sooner or later, an elbow is going to come up 'accidentally', of course, and Sid will get his bell rung. Nothing will happen to the perp.

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Crosby is a giant distraction to the entire NHL, and the league babysits him. The first big hit laid on Crosby after his return no matter how clean it is, I gurantee you'll see a giant suspension. The only reason i'm glad he's back on the ice is that every morning now I don't have to hear about how he's not ready for game action yet.

It was great to see him back...
If you are found to have intentionally hurt another player, the player with the most points on your team at the time should receive your suspension.

If you don't mind me asking, how many points did you rack up in the last NHL game you played? More than Crosby?Crosby is a giant distraction to the entire NHL

How about never? I missed that choice on the poll.
And what is with all the haters? This kid is a generational talent, what's not to love about seeing him on the ice? I'm not a Sid fan per se, but I can appreciate the best player in hockey, it's really not that hard. And WHAT A GAME from him last night!

Colonel Sanders:
Don't get me wrong he is a great player but you can't deny the fact that the NHL treats him differently from other players. Ryan Miller gets hammered by Lucic and nothing happens...Shanahan has a 3 foot orb around Crosby's head and the first person to have any body part cross into that orb and there will be a minimum 5 game suspension handed out.

and they shouldn't.the NHL treats him differently from other players
In an Old Testament-kinda way, this is what I would do if I was
NHL commissioner:
If you head-shot someone, and end their career with a concussion,
your career in the NHL is over, too.
If you head-shot someone and they are out 10 games with a
concussion, guess what? You're out 10 games, too.
Spot the pattern?
Fair consequences for actions would make players think twice
about dirty hits. On anyone. In this day of no personal responsibility
this idea has a snowball's chance in hell (plus the ratings go up when
there's blood on the ice, and ratings mean money, so blood means
money to the NHL).

Re: How Long Until Crosby's Out Again?
Looks like December took it.Eight games into his return to the National Hockey League, Sidney Crosby has been sidelined again.
Crosby will miss at least two games — road games against Philadelphia on Thursday, and the New York Islanders on Saturday — after colliding with teammate Chris Kunitz in a loss to Boston on Monday.
PS I think Kunitz should sit out the games, too!
