That was a fantastic tribute by Simmons.
God bless America, the best neighbours Canada could ever hope for. Happy Thanksgiving to all south of the border, both our countries have much to be thankful for.

Thanks Jake.

I had a surprisingly great turkey dinner with a bunch of the pilots. One of the guys grew up not to far from here, and we took over the house.

The tryptophan didn't work that well, and I took part in Black Friday. Walmart opened at midnight and was nuts. Think of peopleofwalmart.com and multiply that by ten. I then went to Target, and it was the same.
I did my part and added to the 1%. I picked up a playstation and a pack of gum.

Well said Jake,

You know we have a lot to be thankful as well to have such great neighbours as the USA. What other countries in the world do not have to have the military looking at each other from across the border, which is as long as ours? And while we do have disagreements on political levels, Canada and the USA are like siblings, we will always look out for each other to the end.

Sorry it is a day late, but Happy Thanksgiving to all Americans.

Happy Thanksgiving to the US, and WHO do what WHAT? Oh right, fairy tales again. Jeebus Saves! He plays goal for the Leafs now I hear.

Mmm, wonderful neighbour indeed. Raping us in trade disputes all over the place, pressuring our various spineless PM's into ill conceived adventures. Slowly but surely militarizing our border, influencing our domestic policy on drugs :weedman: and AIRPORT Security lmfao, spying on our companies and government agencies through Homeland Security and that fabulous PATRIOT ACT. To name a few simmering issues. But ya, they buy a lot of our stuff, so all is forgiven and they are great neighbours. :prayer: Happy Turkey Day

Yes our Southern friends are very religious and overly aggressive with their military and some of your points are well taken but I thought we were simply wishing them well for Thanksgiving. You can't blame the average American for their Government policies.

"reality check", Dude if you have ran an extention cord from your tent to steal electricity to power your internet, space heater and lava lamp. You're missing a couple of key components of that occupy movement.

Jake YYZ
I can see the problem here. Rather than going with the "God Bless" thing and the military theme it would have been wiser to just wish our American friends a Happy Thanksgiving.
A very large number of Canadians don't believe in Sky Gods and other super natural stuff and we are not a militaristic country so your going to attract diverse views and criticism which is OK I guess as they have just as much right to their opinion as you do.

Or you could have read the title of the thread, not entered, not responded, and perhaps started your own atheist non-aggressive happy turkey day to the Yanks thread instead....

Anyways, Happy (be-lated) Thanksgiving to the US of A!!

Naw! Not the answer in my opinion.
Religion has been respected for way too many years and doesn't deserve it. Its due time that when religious folks start the ball rolling with prayers and god bless this or that that others respond. Doesn't mean that you have to get mean or disrespectful but every time a religious person promotes their beliefs then its just fine to respond to them whether you use flying spaghetti monsters or delusional thinking. As far as I'm concerned if you are religious, that's fine but keep it to yourself.
