And our cars will be to the same standards. I'm not too concerned about the car issue, but food?

Our people are so dumb and our politicians so weak.

Have you ever tasted American food? It's CRAP!

Ugh!

Nice to that Harper realizes that a good Canadian is an obedient, polite Canadian.

Has Obama told Harper what else he plans for Canada?

ISTP,

Sometimes people get tired of eating beaver flavor maple-sugar pie and want to enjoy our deep fried bacon. Peameal too. (I've never actually seen peameal, but having seen deep fried butter, one can only imagine, you can deep fry anything)

I like the idea of better liaison with federal law enforcement, however I don't know why food and auto supply is lumped in there too.

Obama? Harper?

This is business, and they have been buying out Canadian farmers and ranchers for decades.

This was probably too far along by 1978 to stop. Have you tasted food in a place like France where people still plant and grow it looking for the best things to eat?

That guy was a master and a perfect example of the problem you bring up. The guy ate his chicken coated in MSG then cooked in lard for seventy years. If you're old enough you still buy some every so often then swear because it's not the same substance.

I don't believe one minute that guy ate that crap day in day out. He would not have lived that long.
The marketing was good though, if some people still think so.

You must be talking about the new "healthy transfat free" GMO version. I agree you probably couldn't make five years on that stuff.

I never ate as well as here, in Central Asia. And as cheap.
In our house, there are 9 people, as well as three staff, who we also feed.
The total food bill runs at less than 2500 dollars per month.
Most food is fresh from the bazar, and only minimum canned or frozen food is bought.
Every one is amazed how healthy they feel!
Back in Canada, we used to spend 2000 dollars a month for two, shopping at Costco and other cheap (?) places.
Still no McDs in Af!!! :smt040

Chickens are force fed GM modified substances, and then they are cooked in oil from other GM grains. OMG!

Pepsico, Tyson and Hormel is making their way over. Once everyone finds out they don't have enough time to cook for themselves expansion will happen pretty quick.

Culinary management grad, including 4 semesters of nutrition and I'm just about to open my second restaurant...I can tell you it's a VERY good thing that the most recent trend in food is local-seasonal. The shit they cram into processed food is disgusting. Over 2800 synthetic compounds and a disturbingly high tolerance for incidentals, like animal droppings, insect parts, etc.

And trust me...DON'T buy cheap ice cream...The "modified milk ingredient" is sweetened butter oil...which is a byproduct of a byproduct of some butter product manufacturing. Butter flavoured Pam is higher on the quality ladder than this crap. It's sweetened with high fructose corn syrup and refined sugar. It's all considered a sugar product on the open market so it's not subject to cross border tariffs on foreign dairy products, so Canadian dairy farmers get royally screwed. Ice cream is a HUGE portion of the dairy market.
