Well that's interesting.

Apparently MO is in on this as well. So three major northern players all codesharing.

I'd imagine those 146's won't be needed anymore with this agreement

Will the 5T dash 8 and 737 fleet be reduced with the new code share deal ?

Ledcor (Summit) just got its second RJ 85 recently.

Sounds like the First Air YZF-YRT-YFB flight (955/956) will be the RJ85 starting next month, replacing a 737-200.

They only have two? I swear I see that RJ85 everywhere I go. Recently saw it tooling around CYCB for a few days. Watched them accelerate-stop and then taxi off to change a main tire. Are they testing something because I thought their machines were already gravel certified?

My understanding is although the aircraft is equipped/approved for gravel, there is some MTOW penalties associated with it.

One can get dispensation from BAe to allow near-full weight unprepared-surface operations on a per machine, per operator, per aerodrome basis. Probably involves some numbers (CBR, accelerate-stop distances...etc).

How is the codeshare working out so far ?

Is the cutting pretty much done at both company's?

Judging by the economic situation I would say their costcutting is far from over..

So... Canadian North and First Air are back competing on YOW-YFB.

That was fun while it lasted.

Guess that's what happens when you wet lease scuzzy carriers to do your routes, instead of using your code sharing partner to do them...

A little bitter are we?

Fail to see how what is going on up there is any different that how the southern boy's are evolving. If it can be done for less, and someone can still make a dime or two off it, it'll be done, and suckers will still line up to do it.

Are you foreshadowing with your handle?

4 different airlines flying on behalf of 7F: Calm, Summit, Flair, Canadian. Yummy.

Im sure the flying public is as confused as I am.

So First Air wet leases Summit. Calm Air wet leases First Air for the YWG-YYQ-YRT run and last I heard First Air is pulling their jet off the YOW-YFB run and Canadian North will operate both morning and afternoon flights. All subject to change of course.

Also heard First Air closed their YEG 737 base.

Between the jigs and the reels, it's a crappy time to be working for a 705 Northern operator.

I've just about had enough of this and I might need to go back to my Twin Otter.
