I think that the feminist theory is that until the per capita income of every man and every woman is exactly equal, that a gender pay gap exists.

Not necessarily aviation related, but crap jobs often pay better. Think oil workers. Most women don't want to be a labourer in northern Alberta.

CEOs and other upper executives work too much and have no personal life, most women don't want to do that either.

Not that women can't do high paying jobs. There's just more to life than money. Should compare the gender gap of work schedules. I bet women get more time off.

What tripe, they are comparing the flight crew to the cabin crew. coming up with absolutely useless statistics. Aircrew are all paid the same but only 9?% are women, cabin crew is grossly over represented by woman like 70%. You want to address the wage gap, pay for your license otw stfu

I do truly feel that gender should not be any sort of pay level desionmaking criteria.

Once again, as far as this industry is concerned;

A driver is paid as a driver
an AME is paid as an AME
a dispatcher is paid as a dispatcher
a ramp crew is paid as a ramp crew
an accounting clerk is paid as an accounting clerk
a flight attendant is paid as a flight attendant
and on and on and on......

I am trying to figure out where exactly the problem is??

I don't really understand how this wrong conclusion from the data persists, but I am hoping to attend this white privilege conference in Toronto in May and perhaps I will have the light bulb turn on, as they will be discussing all systems of privilege, power, and oppression.

I'd love to go to that conference, but I honestly can't tell if that's an actual real event or a satire site.
Potential topics include:
· Privilege

· Whiteness

· White Supremacy

· Colour Blindness

· Intersectionality

· Anti-Native Racism

· Anti-Black Racism

· Black Trans+/Queer Oppression

· Colonization

· Critical Whiteness

· Power

· Consciousness Building

· Inclusive Pedagogy

· Intentionality

· Accountability
Anyone?

I’m still waiting for my white male privilege membership card. Must have gotten lost in the mail.

Unfortunately, I think this is becoming the new norm in virtue signalling in Canada. I was listening to CBC Toronto this morning on my drive to YYZ and they were discussing the high cost of renting in the GTA and a guy, presumably white (by the following statement) says he had a hard time finding affordable rental apartments even with his education, professional job, and wait for it, ...... privilege.

If you've heard present day North American conferences being introduced today you will be familiar the now standard acknowledgement that attendees are on traditional xxxx territory.

How long before it will be mandatory to announce that "this flight is flying through the "traditional airspace of the xxxxx nation?"

I suppose this is progress of a sort.

"White privilege"? You believe in that crap?

You also still believe in Santa and the tooth fairy?

You're going to have a hell of a time in aviation with those whacked beliefs, the demographic in this industry is a little different than a Starbucks or a lesbian dance class.
