I sure hope they stick around. Just more opportunities for pilots.
Stick around for what?? So they can continue to disrespect and under pay their employees? So they can continue to undermine their employees’s right to organize themselves and negotiate a fair collective agreement?
Exactly.

Rumor has it that the office is now painted westjet teal. Looks like westjet link and Geogian are teaming up. No surprise

So now Encore will have to compete come contract renewal time with the biggest drag on Wawcon in the Canadian airline industry. I had hoped the sh$tshow that is Georgian would fade into obscurity. Sad news all around

Encore is 100% owned, they can call the bluff and even strike if WJ wants to play the CPA game and threaten to pull the contract. Encore is a CPA WJ gave to themselves. Can't imagine they would shoot themselves in the foot.

Besides, Encore is already having enough staffing troubles. Reducing the WAWCON is just going to make that worse.

My prediction is Encore BUYS ggn, merges it together and now they've got some regional jet and CRJ experience. Then they'll dump the 100s and put in an order for the "CRJ900neo"

That won't happen. Bombardier is ending production on the CRJ 900 in 2020 after the current orders are completed. It is going to be tough to get a used CRJ 900 when production is shut down.

Yup but only Pasco pilots will be upgrading to CRJ. WJ Link only wants the CRJ for potential route structure granted by the FAA in the agreement with Pasco to fly to the US . Jazz took whatever GGN pilots on flow though, the rest will be laid off. Back end will be phased out, their contract is not valid at Link or Pasco.
There are about 8 incorrect statements in this 4 sentence post.

GGN’s “help wanted” ad starts out with a very misleading statement ...

“Air Georgian
Pilot

Company
Air Georgian
Location
Toronto Head Office
About Air Georgian
At Air Georgian we strive to be the best regional airline in the world.

As the longest serving Air Canada express partner, we are a proud member of the Express family, operating 62,000 Air Canada flights throughout Canada and the United States.”

Longest serving Air Canada Express partner??

Technically Georgian is the longest Air Canada Connector because Jazz was created in approx 2003 and it's predecessors were fully owned by Air Canada hence technically not a "connector".

Georgian originally was a 19 seat feeder for Canadian Airlines in the 90's.

Like everything else about Georgian it's not as advertised.

"On January 31, 2020, Air Georgian Limited filed a Notice of Intention to Make a Proposal under subsection 50.4(1) of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act (the “BIA”). KPMG Inc. ("KPMG") consented to act as trustee under the proposal. In February 26, 2020, the Company was granted an extension of time to file a proposal to and including March 16, 2020.

On March 16, 2020, the Court approved, among other things, an asset purchase agreement dated March 9, 2020 between the Company and 2746904 Ontario Inc., an entity related to one of the Company’s shareholders (the “Purchaser”), for substantially all of the Company’s assets, properties and undertakings (the “Transaction”). As more fully described in the Second Report of the Proposal Trustee dated March 12, 2020, in exchange for substantially all of the Company’s assets, properties and undertakings, the Purchaser has agreed to assume the Company’s secured debt and certain other obligations. The Transaction is anticipated to close on or before April 17, 2020."

I can only imagine that someone (2746904 Ontario Inc) is having a good year and is looking for some tax loss carry forwards.
