Holy crap - I hope that they've put extra paper in their fax machine! It'll be running overtime tonight with all of the resumes flooding in!
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

How's the pay and days off per month? Do they have their own sims for training? Thank you.
Re: Cargojet stll hiring
Anyone have any idea how many days per month they work?

Re: Cargojet stll hiring
Usually 0, maybe just the occasional 1-2 a month.
Re: Cargojet stll hiring
The much more relevant question is how many nights per month!

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

If you were hiring you'd have your pick of the litter right meow. Story was that Conair had an unexpected opening, put up and ad here, and took it down that day with hundreds of applicants, many of whom were former employees.

Pay per the contract:
Captain
01 Jul 2019
Year 01 $127,797
Year 02 $135,596
02 Jul 2020
Year 01 $130,353
Year 02 $138,308
First Officer
01 Jul 2019
Year 01 $71,400
Year 02 $74,031
01 Jul 2019
Year 01 $72,828
Year 02 $75,511
Don't shoot the messenger.
Currently they're working 15 "days" (calendar days, 2255 report counts as one day, 0530 report also counts as one day) ... Days "away" depends on report and release times. Most duty periods are < 10 hours. So yes "nights" but not usually long ones. There are some back-breakers though.
Sims are all leased.

Let’s all just be honest. If it was a good place to work they wouldn’t be throwing out DEC adds for type rated guys in times like these.

The pay is garbage for a widebody Skip. That's less than 97k USD a year.
Re: Cargojet stll hiring
And 41k USD for a 777/787 FO isn’t garbage?RippleRock wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 7:05 am The pay is garbage for a widebody Skip. That's less than 97k USD a year.

Re: Cargojet stll hiring
Since you know what the should not be can you enlighten us as to what the pay should be?RippleRock wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 7:05 am The pay is garbage for a widebody Skip. That's less than 97k USD a year.
I want to be on the right side of the law when the avcanada salary police knock on my door.

Telling everybody that the pay is unacceptable without also telling us what the pay should be is pointless.

LAst time I checked, at least they're still working - unlike many of our comrades. I'm sure that most of us would rather have 100% of $130k than 100% of EI...Yycjetdriver wrote: ↑Sat Apr 04, 2020 11:16 pm Let’s all just be honest. That's $30k less than a year 1 Embraer Skip makes at a well known Canadian airline. My guess is you think they're overpaid?
Why don't we all just pack it in and sling doughnuts for Tim's. I hear they got a raise and full benefits. The tax savings and tax benefits in our "socialist Liberal handout" country narrows the gap between high and low gross incomes so fast it will make your head spin.
Plus as a bonus, they're mostly all still employed.

All pilots and FAs should make the same as the CEO.RippleRock wrote: ↑Sun Apr 05, 2020 2:57 pm That's $30k less than a year 1 Embraer Skip makes at a well known Canadian airline. My guess is you think they're overpaid?

You didn't mention what a widebody skipper should be paid.
