Tongue in cheek on the publicity? This industry is too small to be producing poor content like this.CL-Skadoo! wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 6:54 am Any publicity...is good publicity.
these are hit and run posts he typically makes. All we have done is keep it active on the forum for him.
Re: Finding a pilot job
This guy is my hero.
I’ll be quite honest in saying that he doesn’t really raise the cringe level in the aviation community.
Ruthless opportunism, shameless self-promotion, and a tacky and/or gaudy delivery is more the rule than the exception among pilots, influencers, and wannabes.

Shall we all chip in so he can start an onlyfans account
As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

Re: Finding a pilot job
I don't know if it is generational, or what, but being an "influencer" and being noticed is very important to some people. They don't care if people like it or not, but for god's sake, "notice me". Success at last.
Re: Finding a pilot job
Please apply that to yourself. You are soo out of touch with the reality of aviation it's quite sad. Please limit your aviation "knowledge" to your family, because to the aviation community you're just a silver-spooned tool.canadian757 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:10 pm
Anyways, wish you all good health but seriously ff off.
-Captain Kirk
I actually do hope you lose your CJ job with a new family, so you know what it's like for many others out there right now.

Such a mature response from a member of the esteemed community of aviators.

If Understand youtube, the OP does not give a rats’ pitouti what you think as long as you click on his video.
So love him or hate him, as long as you click on the video, share it with friends he is a winner.

Showed this to my old man, a retired AC 767 skipper. A would be role-model to Mr. Kirk.
His words:
"Absolutely tasteless."
Read the room Kirk.

Re: Finding a pilot job
So how many times did you click on it?
Seems to me he has read the room, and is playing it very well.
Comment, comment comment...,as long as people click and watch, he is a winner.

Re: Finding a pilot job
We clearly disagree on what playing it well and being a winner means.
Re: Finding a pilot job
If you refer to you and me, I think we probablyagree.
But for an ethically challenged person who makes money every time someone watches his video, then yes, I expect you might disagree.
But from their perspective (ego and money), the watches are wins.
Remember the guy who shot Lennon? Or the others who did horrible things for what they perceived was fame?
If you do not want this guy to win, do not watch his videos.

Trey, you need to meet certain metrics to be compensated for your youtube channel. Judging by his 200 subscribers, he's a long way from being paid anything remotely worth more than taking your monthly recycling to the depot yourself.trey kule wrote: ↑Thu Mar 18, 2021 3:23 pm If you refer to you and me, I think we probablyagree.

At the moment, he's not even close to making even $1. Definitely not a win here.

Haha what a tool. Denigrating the profession. Watch out Mister Sugar! He’s coming for your job!canadian757 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 8:10 pm I feel sorry for you guys. I really do. For you to take the little precious time you have to write about a random dude you don’t know.
Just for fun I’ve seen all these dudes above past posts. It’s always the same spew of negativity. Would anyone trade lives with you?
Isn’t your time better spent on your own goals? Ask yourself why does the YouTuber bother you so much? Then go and work on yourself. I ain’t changing for you.
Anyways, wish you all good health but seriously ff off.

Please don’t change, many of us want you to continue to make these videos so that we may never fly with you at our own airline.

Re: Finding a pilot job
Is this so-called “Captain” Kirk the same charlatan that used to charge people a “ consulting fee” for the privilege of being subject to his vast experience in the world of aviation?
Many years ago a friend who tragically passed way too young, over a beer had opined that our role as pilots is to reach down the ladder as we move up a rung and pull up the guy waiting to take our place. And NOT for our own self-gratification. Sage words from at that time fellow driver of a clapped out Aztec waiting for our break in this crazy industry.
IMHO the maker of these videos is doing a huge disservice to all of us and only reinforces that stereotype of the cutthroat mercenary in it for themselves. But I’m heartened to know that this clown is in the small minority. Yeah I know clown isn’t the right word. Clowns can make people laugh.

The longest journey starts with a single step.
I have to wonder how many of those posting here, and others reading, have watched his video. Every one counts.
He does seem to like the attention. Maybe his videos will get the attention of his CP.

What you are looking at is someone over compensating for a massive inferiority complex.
