Transat, Westjet and Sunwing still hiring!!!

A little bit strange that you would want to expand when we are most certainly aiming to at least a recession.

I guess they think people are still able to go down south on UI..

Now is the time to grow. Seize the opportunity while the market share is out there for the taking. After 9/11 WestJet put the gas pedal down and look at the result. The Canadian economy is not as bad as the market may lead you to believe.

Transat pays WJ, AC, and Canjet to fly their excess passengers. Once they know that they have YEAR ROUND demand for more planes and crews, they bring the flying in house. Transat just added another widebody last week, and 12 more pilots are scheduled to be hired right now, with another course to run in the new year.
As for the recession, if things start to tank in Ontario, Transat can easily add flights out of Vancouver and Calgary - it's easy to follow the money around the country as a charter operator.

The new routes will probably be from Western Canada, the "Canadian" recession as far as I can tell is in Ontario.
