Air Canada Express and Jazz.

Post by twinpratts »

Is there any distinction between Jazz and A/C Ex? I'm seeing their planes (-400Q) at YYZ, and I think they used the Express name in the lounge in YYG announcing a 'Jazz' flight. Are both brands blended?

Jazz is still Jazz corporately. We are branded as Air Canada Express (operated by Jazz) for the CPA.

It's a shame to see such a bland CS on the Jazz Dash 8's. I would much rather have seen them in the old technicolour leaves.

On the subject of the rebranding, have any of the -100s or -300s, or any CRJs received the new colorscheme?

None yet. They will be painted the new color when they go in for regular scheduled painting so i would say 10-15 years before their all painted. CPA will be expired before then.

Man, this really makes me sad. From a purely aesthetic point of view, its a great looking plane. But the implications of the "AC Express" brand are troubling.

There are so many challenges with the Canadian airline industry, the one bright spot (in my opinion) was the colorful and proud Jazz brand.

Please note, I'm not taking a dig at AC Express crew or staff. It just feels disappointing that the industry seems to be heading towards the U.S. model, and on top of that, we are starting to dilute something uniquely Canadian.

Honestly, looks pretty sharp!

Curious to see the classic Dash in it as well!

It'd be nice if they painted the dash engines a darker colour to hide the dirt/oil/exhaust marks like GGN's 1900s. Like it or not it's a turboprop and it'll be a little messy.

There are no AC Express Crew or Staff. AC Express is a Brand name, just like Air Canada Jazz was a brand. There are now 3 carriers that operate the brand: Jazz Air, Georgian and SkyRegional.

Air Georgian is replacing CMA Oct 1st out of YYC. CMA will still fly for AC out of YVR.

It'll just make it that much easier to add "Express" to the Embraer's when it's time for Jazz to operate them!
