Major General R.W. (Bob) Fassold
Bob Fassold passed away last week after a short illness.
A Celebration of Life for Bob will be held in the Ottawa area on August 23, 2018 in the afternoon.
He influenced many people and was a huge resource of anything DHC-1, Comet, and more. All are welcome.
You can PM me for further details.

Was he the gentleman who once had a DHC-1 based at CYRO?
If so, I clearly remember him showing me around it when I was doing my PPL back in the day.

Flew with him twice in the Chipmunk and bought a ride for a friend who learned to fly in Chipmunks as well in order for it to be his first and last flown type in the logbook 50 years apart.
Bob was a wealth of information just on the Chipmunk alone and has written his own POH version for the aircraft. I was lucky to get to fly a few other ones over the years and learn more about its characteristics, but it all started with Bob.
Thanks Bob.
