What a treat that was.

My favourite one was the "Camaraderie" photo.

That is a great find. Lots of intersting stuff in there.

What it really brought to mind though is up until the Trudeau era, we actually had a real airforce complete with pride! Harper it seems is trying to rebuild our military, but it's a long road after decades of neglect and downsizing by the consecutive Liberal governments since the late 60's. Here's hoping!

G'day Niss

Thank you very much for posting the photos. I am fortunate to have been around to see some of these aircraft while still in service.

If anyone is interested in some history of any of the photos, just say so and I will put something together.

Cheers...Chris

Thanks Chris! I'd like some more info on the flying boxcar. I've loved that plane since I saw Flight of the Phoenix (Dennis Quaid Remake, sue me, I'm under 30), but did not realize that they were the primary lifting aircraft like the herc is today. I think ultimately the reason I am so connected to that aircraft is because anything twin boom reminds me of the ship Baloo flew in tail spin.

Good movie. Not a Boxcar in the original.
