Flight duty time

Post by garfield »

example : arrive at the airport at 5:30 AM to prepare the aircraft, leave at 6 for a 2.5 hours flight, wait 6 hours, another flight of 1 hour, wait 5 hours, another flight of 1 hour, wait 30 minutes then a final flight of 1 hour. 30 minutes after flight to unload and put the a/c in the garage. Leave the airport at 11:30 PM.

in this case what is the flight duty time? This is a SPIFR operation.

thanx

17 hours 45 min is my guess,

Unless you have a split duty day, and assuming the duty day ends 15 min after engine shutdown at the end of the day.

You can split your duty day to give a you maximum duty day of 17 hours.

Under no circumstance can you exceed 17 hours. Single pilot does not make any difference in this case as you are only looking at 6 hours of flight time.

Tomorrow somebody is going to have a tired and angry pilot stomping into their office leading off with, "Avcanada said..."
