I've written this before. IMO for a number of reasons, BBD is done. Toast.
Even if they escape BK, which I highly doubt, the stock will be worthless -- just FYI.

Yes they are an expensive item...
But how can you compete with this:

Simple: put the fire anywhere in the Canadian Shield, with a lake nearby, and we'll run circles around them...dashx wrote:Yes they are an expensive item...

Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

Whose money are you using to run circles around them?
As I said they are an expensive item. I don't think I said they were inefficient.
But then again Bombardier's sales team could be more aggressive. Care to crack the whip?

Re: Bombardier Leaves CYYB
The CL415 is an excellent "special purpose" aircraft but it didn't make money for Bombardier. This company reportedly is burning through a lot of cash on a daily basis. Maybe cancelling this program, shelving the Lear 85, delaying the 7000 and 8000 to stop the bleeding isn't such a bad idea. They took on far too many projects at one time and now they pay the price. Old management put this company in a very bad financial position and it looks like new management are doing something about it. That has to be a good thing.
As for their survivability....
It isn't looking so promising.
Gino
P.S. Montreal French CBC reported this morning that Bombardier are in talks with Embraer regarding their C series. Who knows how factual the report is but it would also make sense for them to seek out interested investment partners if their cash reserves are drying up. Who better than another company in aerospace?

Another Conair creation for a country with not too many lakes......
Fire season over? No problem it will do other things........
Still....not a big seller......

The stuff you actually need to protect is near airport though. The rest take or leave it. But there is no point to argue. The market already decide this one for us. USA has more money than anyone and I think they only have one 415 in the whole country. $37 million for 6000 litres is out!
