Here's a quarter, call someone who cares!
I guess I should write something here.
Re: Here's a quarter, call someone who cares!
hahaha quite a pilot bash!
So pilots are lazy, the 3 computers do all the work while they drink coffee, they sleep around and breed too much, and buy too many cars while only working 10 hours then getting a break. I've been doing it wrong!

He's not the first CEO (aviation or otherwise) to feel that way about his employees.
Still, for a reputedly very bright and capable businessman, commentary like that in a public forum in front of a camera isn't necessarily the smartest move he could've made.

Meh. I just spent the day flying around with my feet on the dash, drinking coffee, watching the three computers do their thing. I'm a little tired right now. Nice work if you can find it. I have one wife. Saves me a lot of money, only having one. Besides, she makes more money than I do.
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself

Ass or not he built a huge business on a market that didn't even exist in Canada prior to this.
There's not a lot of aviators that can say that, especially in this country.

Talk about someone who likes to hear themselves talk...

Getting rich in this country is a combination of four things. Hard work, intelligence, luck, and underhandedness.bobcaygeon wrote:Ass or not he built a huge business on a market that didn't even exist in Canada prior to this.

He's a hard worker for sure, and he's smart... but he got a Purolator contract dumped into his lap with nothing but a bank loan for an old Convair, and he's grown and survived by being one of the cheapest, slimiest, and most ruthless operators out there.
My first and almost last job in aviation was working for him.
Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?

Isn't this the same guy that was ferrying a 580 somewhere to the south Pacific and got lost and nearly ditched before the Aussie Coast Guard were able to guide him to an airport?

Not him personally, but his plane and crew. Dialed in west instead of east longitude IIRC... and barely made landfall in South America.
He did fly a DC-3 (Odyssey '86) from YLW to YYC with the control locks in.. because the AMEs didn't remove them.

The only Canada Post stuff left is the BC feeder freight. I don't know if that includes Purolator freight though. That stuff is flown on the CV580.cramer604 wrote:Does kfc still do work for Purolator?
The rest of the country has been flown with Cargojet since April.
A mile of road will take you a mile, but a mile of runway can take you anywhere
Re: Here's a quarter, call someone who cares!
having had a seat on the purolator board helped him squelch any competition for quite a while.

In our universe, succesful is equivalent to wealthy. With few excrptions, the most "successful" people in the world are also the ones ones with no conscience. Wealth is usually built on the backs of those that are vulnerable and exploited. The weathly learn early on that cheating, lying and stwsling is quite profitable and that poor people can't afford to sue you.
