Transport Canada Suspends Keystone Air Operator Certificate

A local airline will not be flying any time soon after it was grounded by Transport Canada.

Keystone Air Service, which flies out of St. Andrews Airport, has had its air operator certificate suspended which bans them from taking to the skies.

A spokesperson with Transport Canada says they have found serious safety deficiencies and they acted to protect public safety.

This is the same airline that had one of their aircrafts crash back in September sending 8 passengers to a Thompson hospital. In 2012, four people were killed in a northern Ontario crash after the plane stalled on final approach.

Keystone Air will not be flying until it demonstrates it is in full compliance with aviation safety regulations, according to the spokesperson.

This is old news. Their CTA licence was suspended before the election, a day or so after the TC AOC suspension.

Well I guess that answer the question about what it take for TC to pull Keystone's OC. They have to go out of business first.
