What was the most unusual airplane you flew?
For me it was the MS 760 a little four place twin engine jet a company I flew for owned.
My first impression was how slow it accelerated during take off and the relatively poor climb performance it had.
But ... it was quite well balanced control wise and did nice aerobatics.
As far as I know it was the only four place private jet you could buy.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

It's great for the mile high club Schooner, doing a slow roll your on top and she's on top over and over.

Attempting to understand the world. I have not succeeded.

Grumman Ag-Cat
Pipistrel Sinus
Air Tractor 401 with a Walter Conversion and Cascade Cowl
Those are all pretty normal aircraft for me but I get a lot of "oouh's and aww's" over those. I pride myself on the number of types I've flown....the uglier the plane the more attractive it is to me.

Good judgment comes from experience. Experience often comes from bad judgment.

Z400 Rhino
We can't stop here! This is BAT country!

Mu-2. Such a great plane. But certainly not usual. No ailerons. Every time you change the power, you need to retrim whole bird. During an hour long flight, you'd literally retrim all 3 axis a hundred times. A hundred.
But man they are amazing machines. Fast and handle like a sports car and can get into a tiny strip.

Much like adam, my logbook has a pile of different machines in it. Most pretty ordinary.. but a couple of oddballs
The most unique was probably the PZL Wilga on floats. Fixed leading edge slats.. big flaps, flip up doors and an IO540 and big honking 3 blader on the front. The only thing it did fast was come off the water!
I also flew in an Osprey. Not the Military one.. and got a ride in a Marchetti 260

Got a couple of hours in a Wilga as well. Described by MP as a real ugly Polish gal, despite her strange appearance Wilga-ing was always fun.Rowdy wrote:The most unique was probably the PZL Wilga on floats. Flauvel AV-36 glider. A wing with twin fin/rudders on the trailing edge and a pod for the pilot on the leading edge. Short coupled...hell yes and if you stalled it, don't push, but pull the stick back to recover. Yes I know..but with that configuration it got real exciting before you hit the ground

That's a long way past unusual, that should be in the bizarre thread!

Is it just me or does one wing look longer than the other?CL-Skadoo! wrote: We thank all contestants for their entries, but Barney wins.
