Happy 70th .
I am not far behind and yet I, like you, have no intention of slowing down. i only wish I had the time to come to YCD for a visit but most of my trips are east to Sask.

The average pilot, despite the somewhat swaggering exterior, is very much capable of such feelings as love, affection, intimacy and caring.
These feelings just don't involve anyone else.

Here's the guidelines for knowing if you're old or not Cat:
1) You can't be tried by a jury of your peers because there are none.
2) There's nothing left to learn the hard way.
3) Your idea of a night out is sitting on the patio.
4) Your little black book only contains names ending in M.D.
5) A passing funeral procession pauses to see if you need a lift.
6) Your knees buckle and your belt won't.
7) Everything hurts and what doesn't hurt, doesn't work.
You and your teeth don't sleep together.
9) It takes two tries to get up from the coach.
and 10) Your ears are hairier than your head.
Have "a good one" buddy and try "sailing with Capt'n Morgan without leaving dry land" for this special evening.

Belated birthday greetings Cat,I watched a television show on History TV last evening about restored WW2 aircraft & one segment on the Catalina, there was nice footage of a yellow with blue PBY with the number 713 on its wing in flight as well as on the ground, while on the ground a crewmember is checking the left engine from atop the wing, then suddenly a grey haired gentleman quickly climbs onto the wing from the cockpit hatch in a light colored flight suit to assist, very agile and quick like a cat.I can only speculate that it was Cat Driver?Anyway all the best on your 70`th, Snowroller

" Good luck on the new venture. We really need this in Canada "
My long term objective is to offer a completly different level of flight training focusing on bringing commercial pilots to a far higher level of competence and flying skills than is possible under the present FTU system .
The secret is to teach flying skills outside of all the requirements of holding a FTU OC.
By not having to comply with things such a having an AMO, PRM, Certified aircraft , chief Fying instructor, TC Instructors rating and following their teaching guidelines I am free to concentrate on the finer arts of flying and passing on real world advice on decision making and when to make decisions based on need.
My second aim is to set up bush pilot training program that will be approved by the insurance companies that after receiving a certificate of competance will allow the pilot to start their first job with lower time requirements.
I will not be in competetion with FTU's as I will be taking their product and improving their flying skills and decision making process.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Thanks King Air Guy....but...
" Hope the next 20 years were as good as the last 20. "
We will have to cut into the last twenty years and erase about three years starting from April 19/2001.
During that period I went through a process with TC that was beyond beliefe and cost me all of my savings for my retirement.
I would have been far better off in jail for that period.
But things are looking up and I'm starting all over again.
