Three or four years ago I talked to one of the people that built them in Stans and he told me that they had just finished building enough vertical stabilizers for the remainder of the Porters that would be built by Pilatus before the only jig was shipped to China. They had already built a fuselage there. Most of the airframes built in the last few years have gone to China for skydiving and there was supposedly an order for two or three hundred, provided production moved to China. It will be interesting to see if that still happens and, if so, whether or not Porters will be available outside of China.
