Re: The Bombardier VS Boeing thing
Only 4 questions need to be answered:
1) How much of the sale money goes to Bombardier execs?
2) How much of the sale money goes back to repay government loans?
3) How many jobs have been sent to Alabama?
4) Does the Tariff still stand?

1) All of it.xchox wrote:Only 4 questions need to be answered:

2) None of it.
3) None, but it would probably cost a TON of new jobs here in Canada.
4) Since it is on the aircraft and design, most likely yes.

Couldn't have said it better myself.rookiepilot wrote:Hmmmmm. Sold a 50.1% (controlling interest) ....for nothing. No cash. No assumed debt. BBD gets Airbus's marketing. All upside for Airbus, additional developed product....for free.
Better deal than the Canadian taxpayers.
Why do I think, that if they could get away with it, the Fed's would have all Canadian taxpayers bail out BBD.....except Quebec taxpayers. They'd be exempt in the interest of "national unity". And the Quebec liberal vote, forever.
I'm sure they thought of it.

1)huh? % of revenue will go to each shareholder of the c-seriesxchox wrote:Only 4 questions need to be answered:

2)they are not loans. The QC government owns 19% of the aircraft, if the market value/orders increases, ROI will be significant.
3)a second assembly plant (belonging to Airbus) will be used in the US for all American orders.
4) Because of point number 3, tariffs will be eliminated for the time being as per the CEO.

Agreed... I think this is a win/win situation for both Airbus and Bombardier and their shareholders.sanjet wrote:1)huh? % of revenue will go to each shareholder of the c-seriesxchox wrote:Only 4 questions need to be answered:

It was all over the news, here in Quebec anyway.
1 Billion from the Quebec government.
something like 374 million from the feds.

The $1B from Quebec is not a subsidy, not a loan but a purchase/equity stake or shares in the C series so they own a major percentage of the C Series project which means if sales of this aircraft takesoff, the Quebec fund that bought into it will make money.

"the province owns 49.5 per cent"
https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/report ... e30570998/
The article posted at viewtopic.php?f=54&t=120145 says Airbus gets 50.01%, Bombardier 31% (from 51%), and Quebec 19%. Sounds like Quebec's investment (and future dividends) just got a lot smaller.

Re: The Bombardier VS Boeing thing
I wouldn't 'microscope' the percentages. Airbus said they plan to buy the Quebec 20% and Bombardier 30%. Their intention is to hold 100% of the C series.
