Nolinor is offering to pay for pilot training
Because of the pilot shortage, Nolinor is offering to pay for the pilot training, a cost that is estimated at 75000$.

Although it sounds good in theory Nolinor is one of the most sketchy companies I have seen operate in the arctic. I fear that this will be the equivalent of a 75k bond and the poor kid will be stuck with no way of leaving.rocket81 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 20, 2018 9:10 am Because of the pilot shortage, Nolinor is offering to pay for the pilot training, a cost that is estimated at 75000$.

I have to admit that I don't know much about Nolinor, in the article there is not a word on working conditions, salary and bond. Hopefully someone in here will be able to provide more informations.

Don't know the inside scoop but I do know they have a not so great reputation as far as employee relations go. Pilots and F/A's left slightly higher pay to go to Canjet at lower pay back in the day.
I would use a good amount of caution.

If they can't find pilots, in a pilot market, that should tell you something about the operation. I remember seeing them a lot in Churchill, bringing in tourists for the polar bear season. Thought the convairs were pretty cool though.

Paying for pilot training? Like ab initio, or remedial?
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself

FREE TRAINING!!* (some conditions apply...)
*Subject to a 25 year bond that must be fully repaid upon termination of employment (not prorated). Starting wage $20,000 a year and tops out at $25,000. Operate aircraft we have pulled from the desert that Buffalo/First Air/Canadian North did not want and enjoy sunny locales such as Rankin Inlet, Meadowbank, Gahcho Kue and the Valleyofgold!
Those guys were going into Gahcho Kue before there were approaches in a 737 when it was 300 feet across the who eastern NWT. If you have spurs and like to ride, then this is the job for you!

Wondering if this will lead to the first MPL issuance in Canada?

This is what I am thinking or some cadet program sponsored by Airlines. Maybe more airlines are going to follow.Panama Jack wrote: ↑Sat Feb 24, 2018 9:17 am Wondering if this will lead to the first MPL issuance in Canada?

Re: Nolinor is offering to pay for pilot training
Good day.
For your informations, the program we are putting in place is a way to give our employees a chance to become a pilot at Nolinor since not every one has the needed finance to become one.
This is a way for Nolinor to give back after 25 years of business in Canada.
Feel free to call our President to know more : Jacques Prud'Homme Cell phone 514 237-4913. He is really hoping to have a chance to talk to you.
Thank you.

Is this for real?Feel free to call our President to know more : Jacques Prud'Homme Cell phone 514 237-4913. He is really hoping to have a chance to talk to you.
1 - No "President" wants to talk to a newb.
2 - His personal cell phone?
Doesn't pass the sniff test.
Re: Nolinor is offering to pay for pilot training
I no longer work for Nolinor, but this program for their employees (while it surely comes with a bond), appears legit, and it's the presidents cell phone number in the reply in the thread. I can further state that he's the kind of guy that would want people to call him directly.
