Social niceties aside, what would motivate kidnapping a flying student?

Sounds like these instructors were incapable of handling their problems like grownups. At least they didn’t try to kill the poor kid, though I wouldn’t be surprised if that was tabled.

Seems almost crazy enough to be a story from the Lower Mainland, I wonder which of the many schools training international students could be a prime candidate...

Yeah, I got that from the article in the OP.

I was making a joke about all the schools in the Lower Mainland now hocking their wares to international students. No one really gives a rats ass about local students, when you can rake in a shite ton of money from elsewhere.

Not wrong at all
Where I was teaching there were kids who are getting their PPLs at 140 hours and even people who are getting their CPL signed off at 500 hours. How? I have no idea, but you gotta have a lot of money to . at that point
