Surely you mean "helping to fly". We're talking about copilots here, not captains. Operating a pressurization controller and flying 50 knots faster than you're used to under the supervision of an experienced pilot is not more difficult than flying a floatplane by yourself. A couple hundred hours on floats, or instructing, damn near qualifies you for the LEFT seat of a King Air. There is no more basic job in all of aviation.goingnowherefast wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 5:08 am Usually people would have a couple hundred hours on floats or instructing before flying a high performance, pressurized twin turboprop.

Tom didn't ask for birth certificate. As I've been saying for some time, Tom's hiring practices are not directed toward Canadians.Diadem wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 8:58 pmSo show him your birth certificate, and stop spamming this forum.Roadrunnersmother wrote: ↑Wed Aug 22, 2018 7:57 pm I was asked to provide Copy of work permit or visa by Tom which born Canadian do not have or need.

Hi. I'm a TFW hired by Tom to act as a pilot recruitment specialist. There is a reason "roadrunnersmother" was not hired by us. The validity of his Canadian status claim came into question regarding our bond. Roadrunnersmother claimed he/she could pay upfront through his/her Nigerian bank account. Being from Nigeria myself, I know this scam all too well. Further more, his/her 5000 hrs of king air time was acquired within 24 mths from a company not listed on the Transport Canada approved operators list. We implore roadrunnersmother cease and desist soiling the good name and reputation of EVAS.

Re: New low in pilot shortage?
So if an interviewer asked to see your commercial licence you would walk out of the interview because you only have an ATPL? (Presuming you have that much) I don't care if he asked for a birth certificate specifically; if I was asked to show my visa or PR card, I would pull out my birth certificate, because I'm a normal, logical human.Roadrunnersmother wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 6:49 am Tom didn't ask for birth certificate. Correct, my booklet shows ATPL, unless they would want to see an old license which shows CPL.Diadem wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:19 amSo if an interviewer asked to see your commercial licence you would walk out of the interview because you only have an ATPL? You're completely missing the point, whether intentionally or through denseness I don't know. If someone asked you to show your CPL, would you show your ATPL or walk out? If someone asked to show proof of the right to work in Canada without explicitly asking for a birth certificate, would you show it or walk out?Roadrunnersmother wrote: ↑Thu Aug 23, 2018 9:45 am Correct, my booklet shows ATPL, unless they would want to see an old license which shows CPL.

I'm 50/50 on whether he's just a troll. I kind of think I might know him, but even if I've never personally met him I've known a few pilots who equally lacked any amount of self-awareness or ability to understand why Air Canada isn't banging down their doors.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship
