Just imagine getting to 76000 ft without an engine. Pretty impressive...

Re: A glider (!) reached 76000 ft
I've been following these guys since the beginning. Really nice to see the headway they've made recently...3 broken records in a week!
Re: A glider (!) reached 76000 ft
It’s incredible considering they have 2 people on board as well, imagine how much higher it could go with only 1 person because they could make everything lighter. I would be extremely curious what kind of coffin corner it ends up being at those altitudes
Re: A glider (!) reached 76000 ft
"Its true flight speed at 90,000 will be 350 knots" -- in a glider! Sounded crazy until I put the numbers in a TAS calculator; could be around 30kts IAS... Amazing.
Re: A glider (!) reached 76000 ft
The U2 flight manual has a lot of numbers like this. It mentions Mach 0.8 at 70,000 feet as being 120 KIAS.
