Perimeter should adopt the Bearskin contract at face value. Even that would be ~10grand pay raises across the board. And Bearskin isn't known for stellar wages either.

None. Just passing along information. But I agree, it's shit pay for start.
But, you also need to take in consideration that they hire 250 hrs pilots and progression is really fast. You don't even need an ATPL to be a captain. If you have a little bit more time when you start, in less than one year you could be doing medevac at 95k a year, working 15 days a month. And live in a big city where you still can buy a really nice house for 350k, 15 minutes drive from the airport.
It's a question of choice and lifestyle. Maybe for a single guy, it's not worth. But for someone with a family... it's not too shabby!

For most pilots, the perimeter contract would be better. Bearskin is better in year 1 and after 10 years, but for year 2-9, perimeter is usually better salary wise.

It also depends what you want out of life: home every night, perimeter wins. per diems? bearskin contract wins.

As an AvCanada discussion grows longer:
-the probability of 'entitlement' being mentioned, approaches 1
-one will be accused of using bad airmanship

The carrot of ‘progression’ notwithstanding, it’s amazing that the line of applicants is probably out the door to get paid that much to be responsible for the safety of up to nineteen people at a time that you carry through the sky in all weather. All that for just a little less than your average full-time Walmart greeter.

What’s the outlook for the full time Walmart greeter in ten years time? Hoping the federal government mandates an $18 an hour minimum wage.

It’s like the oil patch guys I used to fly around. They were doing better than most pilots. But not all the time and you can only do that work for so long.
