Private Owner A/C Rentals in Southern Ontario?

Post by nwopilot »

Hello,

Does anyone know of any private owners, in Southern Ontario, that are renting out their aircraft? (Perferably within a 2 hour drive of Brampton)

I work for one of the majors, and I don’t need to time build. I am just looking for a plane that I could use for some sight seeing flights, or small cross country trips.

Feel free to PM me if you want.

Thanks! :)

Have you tried a flying club in your area?

I'm not even sure you could legally rent a private aircraft.

Sure, if your "friend" let you "borrow" their plane and you covered the "expenses" AND were insured on the aircraft you could.

Just wondering if you had any luck finding an aircraft to rent block time on.

I couldn't conceive of renting my plane to someone I only knew on the internet. Or anything else of mine, actually.

But that's me.

Support your local flying club!

Borden Flying Club has a lovely Cessna Cardinal 177B as well. Slightly more expensive / hour but much less of a buy in! Located at Edenvale Airport. www.bordenflyingclub.com

Enjoy. After 28 years generally not flying smaller single engine aircraft I am having a riot!

It is legal for a private owner to rent out an aircraft to a licensed pilot, provided the insurance signs off on it.
Your best bet for finding such an aircraft is to keep an eye in COPAs Trade a Plane and on the bulletin boards around your local small airports. There are sometimes ads for people renting block time. Alternatively, put out your own ad, or just hang around a small airport and get to know some of the owners. These are all ways I have seen people get block time.

There’s a private Beechcraft C23R Sierra at Burlington available dry for blocktime on Kijiji.
