I am curious on the difficulties and costs of importing an AULA advanced ultralight aircraft into Canada whether it’s from the US or Europe? We’re not talking about a certified cessna or piper where I hear it’s a little more difficult due to the maintenance standards , if anyone has pros and cons please share. I know it’s easier to buy from Canada but the prices can be better in the US.
Thanks in advance

Re: Importing an Advanced ultralight aircraft
Your biggest problem is going to be opening up any enclosed spaces. When first built - the aircraft goes through a pre-closure insp. If you import an already finished aircraft - those areas need to be re-inspected to ensure they were built properly. Depending on the aircraft type - that could be very invasive and expensive.

He said Advanced Ultralight, not Amateur-Built.
