cost of housing vs min wage..

Post by oldncold »

from data of cmhc, in the big city of yvr or yyz it will take 35 $ hr to afford a average 2 bedroom apt. in yyz it's about 27$ hr. they also said if min wage. worker. would have to put in 112 hours a week to afford that apt.

sounds like that may be part of the issue in gettn qualified pilots to live in big city wages don't match cost

Minimum wage jobs were never meant to be careers. Somehow people think that absolutely everyone deserves a house. You want a house? Get an education and a higher paying job.

Sadly though, many entry level pilot jobs pay less than minimum wage

I agree with you but I think it’s more about affording to simply put a roof on top of your head.

There are jobs out there that require very little education and pay enough to be able to afford a house, well not in Vancouver or Toronto or some of the other ridiculously priced cities.
