Wow, lucky you're alright. As far as the medical goes I think you've done all that's required. Book yourself off of course untill your stitches have healed or whatever but as for informing TC it sounds like you're all covered

Read CAR 404.06, and ask yourself if you are impaired by injury. If you are impaired as a pilot you should have an aviation medical. If you don't feel that you've been impaired, finish healing, and go on with you life!
