I apologize in advance if this is a repetition of a previous post.
I am interested in flying in Canada as a first officer. My total experience is 950 hours to date with 700+ on jets (no it was not a p2f program . Just ended up in the airline due to an acute shortage in my country.)
I do understand that Jet flying is not an option without a Canadian ATPL. Therefore I am interested in building time on turboprops.
Considering that all factors are catered for (License conversion / residency / work permit etc.) what are the chances of getting a job in Canada with this type of experience? Relocation is not an issue for me but obviously a decent wage that can keep me afloat does matter.
P.S. My intention is to stay in BC (Vancouver area) till my license is converted. I am looking forward to the Harv's Air online ground school to prepare for my exams. Can anyone suggest a good flight school that can help me with the flying part of my conversion? My jet rating has lapsed and since I haven't flown SE in a while so my flying would most definitely require the help of good instructors to train once again.
Also - someone suggested that the flight check may also be conducted in an airbus simulator. However, the costs involved, in my estimate, are quite high.

Re: Job Chances?
Who told you jet flying is not an option unless you have an ATPL? That's not true. As long as you have a Canadian Commercial Multi-IFR licence, AND THE RIGHT TO WORK IN CANADA, then start applying. There are a number of companies taking low time pilots right now.
Best of luck,
