Of all the planes I've flown, I only ever disliked flying one......The dash 8.

Never expected the Dash 8 to have the same following as the Beavers and Otters.

Re: For Dash Fans
I'm old enough to remember watching serial #1 flying around when it was the one and only Dash-8 in existence....it's still weird to me when i see them parted out/scrapped.
Re: For Dash Fans
When Dash 8 serial number one was painted at DH, it was a rush to get it ready for rollout. A few of us were around that Sunday evening, and went down to the paint shop to sneak a look at the beauty. We were volunteered to help. It turned out that somehow, they'd pulled it into the paint shop with the tug, and disconnected. For a reason I cannot remember, they could not get the tug back into position to push it out. So eight or so of us were pressed into service pushing it out by hand - hands on landing gear only! It was ready for rollout on time!
Re: For Dash Fans
I'd think the -6 has the biggest following. It's operating and has been operated by more people worldwide so more interest. I know personally when I see a Dirty Double I think, "whats the S.N of that one" If I find out I'll go the the TWINOTTERARCHIVE and look at the history.
Re: For Dash Fans
I love the Dash-8. I flew them for several years. Then the Q400. I did not like the Q as much as the “classic”.

Re: For Dash Fans
People are fans of anything. Some guy on a historic page I follow identified a tank rail car in a photo from 60 years ago thats still being used today in a rail yard for storing tallow.
I think it should be a rule of the Internet. If it exists, there will be a fan base.

Geez did I say that....? Or just think it....?
