Operations Manager Study Guide 703

Post by Max5racing »

I'd like to use this forced down time to do some studying, but I'm drawing a blank on being able to find anything to help with studying towards becoming an Operations Manager.

Does anyone have any insight as to where I could find a study guide for a 703 role?

Read the 703 Regulations, Associated standards and review the flight duty times would be a start and then know the contents of your ops manual. Understand the table of contents as that tells you where to find information in the manual and what an AOC plus any authorizations the company has.

This publication is to be used with reference to the Aeronautics Act, the Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs) Part VII, and the Commercial Air Services Standards (CASS).
This study guide is intended to provide elaboration on each of the subject areas included in the knowledge requirements for the position of Chief Pilot Commuter Operations.
The subjects covered in the examination are as follows:
Chief Pilot Commuter Operations:
Aeronautics Act
Canadian Aviation Regulations
Provisions of AOC
Publications
A pass mark of 80% will be required on the Chief Pilot Commuter Operations (CPCOM).
The Chief Pilot Examination forms one part of the necessary requirements in order to become a chief pilot. A chief pilot applicant will also be required to successfully complete an oral examination/interview with the appropriate Regional Commercial and Business Aviation Principal Operations Inspector prior to chief pilot appointment.
Successful completion of the CPCOM examination constitutes successful completion of CPTAX Examination for chief pilot operating under multiple subparts 703/704 operations.

I'm working on a course or group of courses that will include an ops 703 and 704 course incorporated with other aspects of aviation management in which the ops manager plays a role. It will be ready in July, and will be online. It will be considerably beyond what TC requires, but it will include all of that. You will have an oral exam with an inspector as the last step once you pass the written.

CNCPC - if your course is available, I would be interested in doing it. I’m taking over ops manager for a 703 operation and I haven’t found much info out there on how to prepare for the position other than know your company ops manual and CAR’s, pretty generic stuff.

I’ve seen the online course that Harv’s Air offers but curious to see what you have to offer too.
