Why would someone start an arson fire of that magnitude in the middle of the day? Seems pretty risky to me.

The hot exhaust from a recently parked vehicle could have easily caught the grass on fire. It's florida, it can be tinder dry and the fire would spread too quickly to do anything but watch.

Had to be lightning, the convenient kind, one way to recoup travel ban losses - not many hot exhausts these days

Never park a car with a catalytic converter in tall dry grass unless you want to start a fire.
