Floatplane
Is there anyone here from Alberta or BC who rents out (or knows who does) floatplanes? I'm an 8,000 hour King Air pilot.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Floatplane
I don't know of anyone renting a King Air on floats, sorry I just couldn't resist Covid19 cabin fever strikes again

I actually think I did my float rating from them once upon a time. The airplane I flew, blew up a few months later though, when a spark ignited the thing during refuelling. I think it took a poor guy with it too.

Re: Floatplane
I imagine it would look a lot like that horrible conversion where they take an innocent Beech 18, put a single vertical stabilizer on it, PT-6es, tricycle gear and a long beaky nose. I think I saw one on floats once. An abomination!
If I'd known I was going to live this long, I'd have taken better care of myself
Re: Floatplane
The last time I enquired about an FTU that provided float training, in regard to renting their aircraft; the response was that they would only rent to pilots who had completed their 50 hour program. Didn't matter if you had 50 hours on floats, didn't matter if you had 50,000 hours on floats - complete their program, or get lost.
