Commercial or PPL required
Does a farm employee that seeds, combines etc for a farm owner/employer ,require a commercial pilot license to spray the same fields with the farm owner/employers spray plane?
Re: Commercial or PPL required
Yes
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: Commercial or PPL required
Read the regs carefully, there are some odd exemptions related to spraying. I don't know if this would be one, but it might be worth doing the research...

Re: Commercial or PPL required
Pretty simple, if you’re working as an employee or contractor you need a CPL.
Re: Commercial or PPL required
A PPL farmer who (personally) owns a spray plane can work for his neighbours; but even that easement isn’t available if the plane is owned through a company.
I don’t think it helps in this scenario.

This is what I thought, and argued today with a individual. Not withstanding the ppl owner spraying for neighbours part. Thank you.

See the Advisory Circular on the topic: https://www.tc.gc.ca/en/services/aviati ... 0-007.html
Basically you need a CPL unless you own both the farm and aircraft (or parts thereof within 25nm).
