Perhaps if the world had closed their borders with the CHICOMS we wouldn’t be in this mess.

You’re either 13 years old or 85, it’s impossible to tell which.

Is it any surprise that Rockie and his supporter on this thread would have no clue that places like Chinatown locations would have a lot of visitors from China.mixturerich wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 1:53 amWay for pelmet to lose any scrap of credibility of credibility he had left lol. Jeez. If that’s a real quote of his, I am flabbergasted.
And yes folks, back in February/March when details of this pandemic were very little, I decided to avoid areas more likely to have visitors from China as that is where the disease was. Italy was added to the list later and now the US is on the list(among others). Funny how people were racists for doing the former but not the latter.
So yeah, I avoided the areas where I figured people from these areas were likely to be. Using the earliest example of China back in February, would anybody be surprised to discover that people in Chinatown have relatives visiting from the old country who would likely go to the local restaurants(locations that still have serious restrictions due to the virus). Rockie might be surprised, but intelligent people would not. Would it be surprising to anybody top know that Chinese visitors frequently go to Chinese restaurants over here. Would it be a surprise to discover that major North American Chinese New Year celebrations might have a significant amount of visitors from China. Oh well, Nancy Pelosi and Bill de Blasio were more concerned about the local votes and promoting the racism card(as evidenced in my earlier links) than lives of thousands.
Would it surprise someone to find an Italian visitor in an Italian food store. I seem to hear Italian accents and language when I visit one and there are strong ties to the old country like many of the rest of us. So yeah, my favourite local Italian store was avoided by me for a while during those days in March and later on.
Yes Rockie, there are plenty of Chinese visitors in Chinatown and Chinese food stores in places like New York, SFO, Vancouver, etc. I know that likely comes as a surprise to you which is no surprise to me.
So I have a lot more credibility that you and Mixturerich.

Interestingly though, to the best of my knowledge, neither Chinatown, nor Richmond in greater Vancouver had a huge spike in CV cases, despite their ties to China..pelmet wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 6:11 am Yes Rockie, there are plenty of Chinese visitors in Chinatown and Chinese food stores in places like New York, SFO, Vancouver, etc. I know that likely comes as a surprise to you which is no surprise to me.

Everything has an end, except a sausage, which has two!

You will notice I used the singular form if you take the time to re-read it.

That may be true but it was impossible for me to know at the time how the inevitable spread would manifest itself. One just has to make a reasonable guess.mmm..bacon wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 7:20 amInterestingly though, to the best of my knowledge, neither Chinatown, nor Richmond in greater Vancouver had a huge spike in CV cases, despite their ties to China..pelmet wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 6:11 am Yes Rockie, there are plenty of Chinese visitors in Chinatown and Chinese food stores in places like New York, SFO, Vancouver, etc. I know that likely comes as a surprise to you which is no surprise to me.

I did read it, you said supporter on this thread. Surely I must have at least one other supporter on another thread which would make it two.
Call me an optimist...and I'm still waiting for an invite to the meetings.

And pelmet doubles down!! proclaiming his superior intelligence and credibility over us, because he avoided Chinese people at the beginning. Priceless.
Re: Open the door, no thanks
That’s not relevant to the point at hand. Had the CHICOMs been honest about COVID, and had the rest of the world isolated them quickly enough, we wouldn’t be in this mess. You can argue that point if you want, but you’ll loose.
It’s really cute to watch all the ‘progressives’, who wanted open borders and globalization, express such enthusiasm for closing borders now. Really shows the general lack of principles in the group. They are essentially bigots that hate Americans.
Re: Open the door, no thanks
You're right, it has absolutely nothing to do with the out of control infectious disease bringing that country to its knees.
What an idiot...
Re: Open the door, no thanks
LMFAO!!! The only people who said anything about open borders were conservatives.
Liberals: A border wall won’t work for illegal aliens who fly into the US and overstay their travel visas.
Conservatives: lIbErAlS wAnT oPeN bOrDeRs!!1!!1!!!
Conservatives also love temporary workers and 3rd world sweat shops. All you have to do is look at hicks a local Walmart to see what political leaning really loves globalization
Re: Open the door, no thanks
Wrong again....no surprise. I avoided places I felt we’re most likely to have people who had recently arrived from China, nowadays, it would be more from other countries although I don’t trust any statistics from mainland China, so caution is recommended.mixturerich wrote: ↑Thu Jul 16, 2020 9:12 am And pelmet doubles down!! proclaiming his superior intelligence and credibility over us, because he avoided Chinese people at the beginning. Re: Open the door, no thanks
Dude, I’m perfectly happy to close the border with the US, and the rest of the world, until this situation is resolved. I like borders and territorial sovereignty. What I find funny is the hypocrisy, and the complete lack of self awareness of that hypocrisy, that you lefties are showing. The mantra of the progressives has ever been ‘globalization and open borders’, right up until something scared you (and coincidentally gave you a chance to take shots at your favourite target, the US). At that point you dropped your principles as quickly as you could. Be careful, next thing you know you’re going to start calling to build a wall while walking around with a red ball cap....
As I said, no principles at all. Just passive grass that blows whichever way the The wind tells you.
I give this thread a very short time before lock. That is generally the pattern. Once Rockie starts getting his keister handed to him somebody comes in and saves him. Kinda like the MSM with Trudeau.

I don’t recall Harper inviting all and sundry to wonder across the border into Quebec...
Oh well, must of happened while I was busy posting here.....

Starting Wednesday, hospitals are no longer to send data to the CDC, instead, it is to go to the White House and will no longer be available to the public.
Just watch, like magic, the numbers will now start to drop at an amazing pace....

I can hear Trump now, “look at what a GREAT job we’re doing. Our numbers are PERFECT!”

That may be because he was to busy getting TFW into the prairies on the farms, and into Timmies all across the country.

This thread is pathetic. Bunch of rattle tossing sandbox trolls.
