Sigh. Hz, meet dBA. dBA, meet Hz.
DId you hear the one about the jurisprudence fetishist? He got off on a technicality.
Re: I'm going to court
It's a known fact that there is a hearing loss as we get older, it's also a fact that some people are completed deaf at a young age or have hearing loss due to their work environment, So for TC to request that I do an audiogram after I've been accessed by a TC approved medical doctor is a bit much, So what's the point in going through a medical when TC's medical doctor can request addition testing when he never had me as a patent, doesn't know my physical condition.

Well, yes he does. He analyzes the paper your doctor sent in, and he checks the required tests based on age.redlaser wrote: ↑Mon Apr 05, 2021 10:57 am It's a known fact that there is a hearing loss as we get older, it's also a fact that some people are completed deaf at a young age or have hearing loss due to their work environment, So for TC to request that I do an audiogram after I've been accessed by a TC approved medical doctor is a bit much, So what's the point in going through a medical when TC's medical doctor can request addition testing when he never had me as a patent, doesn't know my physical condition.
Try not sending in your ECG after X years, because your doc thinks you're fine.

Re: I'm going to court
Talking about ECG 10 years the same doctor at TC requested that I see a cardiologist about my heart condition, I passed the test with flying colors and under a stress test as well running a mile on a treadmill for a mile, the cardiologist laughed at at TC medical officer stating that that doctor didn't know how to read an ECG printout, Just goes to show what kind of an idiot doctor works as chief medical officer st the TC office in Toronto.

So loud in fact, it’s several orders of magnitude above the level (1,100dB) needed to destroy the entire universe!

10^5 dBa corresponds to a pressure level of ~10^493 Pa. I don't even think the big bang generated that much pressure. Damn log scale.
Re: I'm going to court
I'm no fan of TC, so I wish you luck redlaser. I see your seeing some toys, hopefully not related to this.
Re: I'm going to court
Not related, over the years I've accumulated a lot of manuals and stuff that is gathering dust, and I've should have sold years ago, I also own two aircraft, two more than most pilots on this site, nothing against renter pilots who fly a couple of hours a year and end up doing more check rides than actually solo flights, Aircraft ownership can be expensive, Just ask a flight school operator.

So a trip to the audiologist is too much of a hassle for you but going to court isn't? Interesting choice.
Re: I'm going to court
Lots of time on my hands, and it will be interesting to see how the courts will handle this in a period of the pandemic, I get a feeling they will refuse to hear the case, probably just refer it back to TC for them to deal with the situation.

Re: I'm going to court
this is not a joke. this guy is still flying.
somewhere around 66 or 67, can't hear squat, severely overweight, bad attitude, complaints about his way of doing things galore, and this guy is still flying commercially in a turboprop............
apparently, he had a check ride with a tc inspector and he got signed off. about his hearing.
if he can do it, anyone can do it..........
good for him, not so good for anyone else. anything goes these days.

With the present lockdown and people dying I could end up being the last human on the planet, Maybe it was the coronavirus that killed off the dinosaurs. One thing is for sure" YOUR GOING TO DIE",

Long time lurker here,
Just wondering if having a medical “suspended”, but no timeline is akin to being a permanently cancelled one, or just requires more testing/time.

Re: I'm going to court
Requires more testing/time. A lot of the disqualifying criteria from the past now acceptable with sufficient testing and time. This includes pacemakers, SSRI's, etc.
Re: I'm going to court
Sent in the audiogram reports last week, lets see how long it will take the TC medical doctor to give me back my medical for my pilot licence, Just wondering if he is actually working due to the coronavirus. Or just sitting at home drinking scotch.
