Air Canada crew held in Hong Kong after 'positive' COVID test

That would sure suck to find out one of your crewmembers had Covid and now you have to quarantine for 21 days in a Chinese government isolation facility instead of going back to Canada and having your scheduled days off.

It’s good to see a government somewhere in the world that’s willing to protect lives and take real action against covid.

Just kidding

Not sure how the quarantine regulations work there for crew.

Normally crew members are allowed out of quarantine to operate flights and then continue their quarantine after the flight.

It is also possible that after a negative PCR test (after 5 days) - remaining crew members will be allowed to fly home.

Always fly a stable approach - it's the only stability you'll find in this business

How would it work for pay if you are stuck in isolation? Per diems?

Nope, no per diems when China's giving you prison food.
