There was an interesting observation in the comments thread to that story: "Sims reportedly took a 50% pay cut, so he still made $1.7 million. When Chrysler was in trouble about 1980, Mr. Iacocca worked for $ 1. One guy chose optics, the other one led."
The other thing is the comment about injury...if you were unfortunate enough to get hurt while volunteering, I wouldn't be surprised to see a big company try to weasel out of its disability/injury liabilities..

Isn't your RAIC only meant to be used when you're airside and "in the course of your duties"?

For people to actually show up to work for free, for a multibillion dollar corporation, who just fired all their ground staff to outsource labour...there must still be a few drops of Kool aid left in that place!
