Canadian North gets another F100

Post by tincanflyer »

According to http://www.fokker-aircraft.info Canadian North has aquired another Fokker 100, PT-MQQ which was previously operated by TAM. The registration is expected to be C-GYNR.

Was talking to a F100 FO and apparently its a fun aircraft to fly. Interesting systems. The engine sounds like its coughing during start up but does every time so I assume thats normal :?

But aren't they somewhat limited with the F100? AFAIK there is no 'gravel kit' available so would be limited to a handful of n of 60 strips.

It was about 2-3 years, but now it's down to one and a half years.

One went to Air Niugini, one to OLT.... A LONG time ago: so long, that C-GPNL is now assigned to a 737-300!

Some of the -200's on that list are "retired". All the -300's are active though

Does the ramp outside the 5T YEG hangar still look like a 737-200 scrap yard ?

With the AB economy affecting their business they could turn a few of those carcasses into chip wagons...would make a killing at lunch time around Nisku

If by scrap yard you mean the one -200 that has been there for a year or so then yeah its still there as a parts aircraft until they turn it into beer cans. Only been the one u/s aircraft there that I'm aware of. The others might be a bit dirty from the gravel strips and various leaking fluid, but they are still operational aircraft :)
