Re: Weather books
Air Command Weather Manual. I used it to prep for the INRAT years ago and found it the best of what was available at the time, and I aced the exam. Bought it at Aviation World near YYZ.

Re: Weather books
+1 on the Air Command Weather Manual. Great text.
Other texts I have used include:
"Aviation Weather Hazards of BC and Yukon" by Kent Johnson and John Mullock (provides region specific information about localized weather phenomena, etc along popular VFR routes)
"Mountain Flying" by Sparky Imeson (popular)
"Jeppesen Aviation Weather" by Peter F Lester (more americanized, but very comprehensive)
I got most of these through my flight school at the time, or at Aviation World. Their website is http://aviationworld.net/ but they're under construction at the moment. I don't think they had a regular online store, but who knows with their new website.

Re: Weather books
Thanks,
I was looking at a few books, "Severe Weather Flying", "Fair Weather Flying", and also the Killing Zone which I thought looks interesting,
Has anyone read any of these?

Written from a pilot's perspective more than a meteorologist's, it deals with the practical side of weather flying. It assumes you have a basic understanding of how weather works, and deals more with how to use that knowledge. Cues to look for while flying, what to do when weather is encountered, as well anecdotal stories of 25 years as airline captain and as weather researcher. Fairly easy read, worth the money.

Re: Weather books
After alot of weather books, Best is Air Command Weather Manual. Simpler but straight to the point is AWARE.
Also important is a comprehensive text on weather radar operation along with the actual manufacturers manual. The most misunderstood area of study on commercial aircraft next to performance.
