Re: 7F Rumour
I have been told by a 7F pilot that this is their intention. I wasn't told anything about exec seating however.
Re: 7F Rumour
Whatever they buy they better be quieter than the junk they fly now. Its either First Air or a Russian cargojet waking everyone up in Montreal.....

I love competition. 7F has been doing this run for how long and did nothing. Finally another operator announces a route into theres and they finally want to upgrade. Love canadian companies. haha

Competing with Jazz on what? Sked into YZF or YFB? Or charter?WASIE wrote:Heard through the grape vine today that First Air is buying or is going to lease a 737-500. The aircraft will be fitted with exec style seats to compete with our friends at Jazz. Any truth to this ?
Re: 7F Rumour
Plans for the "upgrade" to the old 200 series has been in the works for quite a while, whether or not Jazz' decision to come North persuaded 7F to move quicker is unknown, but they would have been replaced in the near future eventually.flyinhigh wrote:I love competition. 7F has been doing this run for how long and did nothing. Taking off in Montreal or Ottawa is like doing a buzz job in the old whoredyne -- I love it especially if people need to go and straighten their pictures -- noise = shit eating grin = fun --

Re: 7F Rumour
For those of you nimrods who suggest I move away from the airport, the Dorval abomination is smack in the middle of an island. Harder to get away from it when you are surrounded by water. Believe me, if I could move away from QUEBEC that would not be far enough, but there's a little complication called employment - yes, I am one of the few left in Quebec with a job and by default one of the 60% of Quebeckers who pay taxes... I also chose my spot carefully between the departure paths. First Air is still flying junk and could probably not operate anywhere in the US (where there are also people - maybe Nebraska?) so why can they fly that crap here? Noisy smelly gas-suckers. Maybe they should use the old beaters to haul athletes to the "Green Olympics" in Vancouver?
Trudeau got it right when he built Mirabel, just no politicians who followed after had the balls to build a rail thing to get people there.
My pilot parts say it would still be a hoot to fly a '27............

Re: 7F Rumour
We don't actually fly any 727's anymore. Sorry for the bad news. As for the 737's, I think you'll soon be in luck in the noise department. There will be newer aircraft in the 7F fleet very shortly...

Oh poop, I wasted a rant. Hate it when that happens.....
