Doesn't the Weather Network get its data from EC anyway? So it is from the same source in the end.....

I think you're right, but they use different models to produce their forecasts. Therein lies the difference.
Its discussed a bit in this thread: viewtopic.php?f=54&t=37773&hilit=Enviro ... he+weather

...I just wanted to add a more specific poll.

Not too bad once we know their "kilometers" are in fact "knots" when it comes to the wind.

I use three EC WN and AWWS. See what they're all saying and make a sort of average of the three.

TWN sucks. How many times I've seen the most ridiculous forecasts....like -8 and snow for YVR in September...really? I mean I know its 7 days away, and freak things do happen, but even a little common sense pisses all over that forecast instantly, forget what ever your "model" told you. And check that 7th day in a day or two and they'll be forecasting 15 and sun. Never get that with EC.

What grinds my gears with the weather network is how they'll put their "pop" as 100% like 5 days before the actual date. Then you check the next day and they lowered it down to 60%. Which makes no sense. How can you 100% guarantee that it's going to rain 5 days from now, and then the next day say, well, it'll probably rain....
The other thing I don't get about the weather network AND environment canada is how neither of them will EVER put a probability of precip at 50%.... I wonder why????

That being said, Oga Nobosi is awesome.

Are you kidding? The weather network can't even predict nightfall with any accuracy.

The UK weather office seems to be having some problems with accuracy ...

:x
Forget the extended 7 day forecast, EC cant even estimate sky conditions 6h in advance. Today's 1151 GFA for Southern Ont. (GTA) was WAY off!
