A crippled passenger jet has landed at Hamilton airport.

It came to a stop just past the tower. Two large firetrucks followed it - one off each wing - as soon as it landed. The other emergency vehicles stayed in the staging area. Several are now grouped around the plane.

John Verbeek Hamilton fire Department spokesman said he watched the landing on an airport video feed and it appeared to be smooth.

Verbeek said the original call was that the jet had no brakes. It appeared that for the landing it did.

The subsequent call was that the brakes were hot and they had to let them cool down.

He said all occupants are staying on board and the jet is being towed into the terminal.

At least half a dozen fire trucks and several ambulances gathered at the south end of the north-south runway, waiting for the small passnger jet to arrive. It is a Gulfstream G100 owned by Jet Port. Jet Port, owned by Hortons magnate Ron Joyce, services high-end corporate aircraft.

Its estimated time of arrival was about 12:15, but it was delayed so two WestJet flights can land. Those have now landed. It touched down at about 12:50.

There were four people on board. The crew was trying to get the hydraulics working again.

Heard a great story third hand so no promises as to its veracity. Son of the owner of a Ontario based business married a relative of a retired airline pilot. Was told the fathers corporate T prop was going to pick up all the relatives, including him, and fly them to the weddings. He said great I would love a ride please answer a few quick questions

1) What is the experience of the fligth crew ?

2) How much are they paid and is it a salary or per flight ?

3) Where did the crew do their initial and recurrent sim training and when was the last training conducted ?

4) Who is PRM ?

5) What procedures are in place to prevent owners and managers from influencing flight safety decisions

Of course it turned out the owner was too cheap to pay for sim training, flew the airplane single pilot with a low time guy on a permanent beeper watch and paid shit wages. Finally the owner made all maintainance decisions and expected the airplane to make every trip. The owner was supposedly quite offended when nobody wanted to take him up on the free trip....

If it walks and quacks like a duck...

Too many inci/accidents within one entity to be the result of random occurrences. There are some serious systemic problems with JP.
